Now that all the hype about Elvis' death and the alleged drug
abuse that caused his death is over, it is time to tell the truth, the
whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Here is the beginning of
the story behind the story. Rick Stanley participated in a
re-enactment of the day of Elvis’ death in 1997 for the Unsolved
Mysteries television program. A man portrayed Elvis as kneeling to pray
and asking Rick to join him. It would be interesting to know what it was
that Elvis was praying for that day. For what does one pray for, knowing
that a plan has been formulated to take a chance on losing one’s life? This is evident by what Elvis said the
morning of his death to Billy Smith, “This is the most beautiful place in
the world to me, more than any place I’ve ever been.” There was a soft
smile on his lips, and an almost ethereal look on his face. And then for
no apparent reason, he turned to Billy and said: “If I should die, Billy,
don’t grieve for me. Let me go. Don’t let your grief keep me earthbound.
Let me go where I have to go.” (1) Elvis had no desire to die. He used the
word, “if” in his sentence to Billy Smith. He wanted to live, but had
reached a point in his life where his hopes for finding the fulfillment
he wanted and needed so much were unavailable to him. So, he decided to
take a chance for life. He decided to take a double dose of drugs to put
him back in the hospital, hoping that someone, somewhere would take
notice and offer him the support he needed. But he miscalculated how much
his body could tolerate, and in mercy, God gave him the peace of
uninterrupted sleep until He could give this information to someone who
could use it. How do I know this? God has revealed it
to me. He has also revealed that it is possible for Elvis to have a second
chance for life. For Elvis’ spiritual quest is not over, it has just
begun. More will be revealed in the coming days. (1) Geller, L., “The Truth About Elvis “, pg 277
