Don McLean escreveu e gravou And I Love You So em 1970. Surgiu no seu primeiro LP, Tapestry (United Artists 5522). Tanto Bobby Goldsboro (United Artists 50776) em 1971 como Perry Como (RCA 74-0906) em 1973 tiveram versões bem sucedidas de And I Love You So, chegando à 83ª e 29ª posições, respectivamente. A versão de Como chegou a Nº 1 na tabela Easy-Listening, ao passo que a versão de Goldsboro chegou à 8ª posição.

Elvis gravou And I Love You So em 11 de Março de 1975, nos estúdios da RCA, em Hollywood.
