Informação:
Ned Miller escreveu Dark Moon em 1957. Várias gravações da
canção foram lançadas nesse mesmo ano, mas parece que Bonnie Guitar (Dot
15550) teve a versão original em Abril. A sua gravação, que foi lançada pela
Fabor Records (Fabor 1018) e depois cedida para a Dot, alcançou a 6ª posição
na tabela Top 100 da Billboard. Muito perto dela andou a versão de
Gale Storm (Dot 15558), que ainda se saiu melhor, chegando à 4ª posição.
Hawkshaw Hawkins teve um lançamento country de Dark Moon (RCA 6910) em Junho
de 1957 que não chegou a entrar para as tabelas.
Elvis gravou Dark Moon em Graceland, nos anos 60,
acompanhando-se a si mesmo tocando guitarra. Só surgiu no LP A Golden
Celebration, em 1984.
