Elvis gravou Dixieland Rock em 16 de Janeiro de 1958, no
Radio Recorders, para o seu filme de 1958,
King Creole. O take 14 foi
o que foi comercialmente lançado pela RCA. A versão de Dixieland Rock no LP
King Creole foi diferente, pois tinha sete acordes iniciais, em vez
de dois. Aaron Schroeder e Rachel Frank são os compositores. No EP
King
Creole, Volume 2 foram incorrectamente apontados como sendo os
compositores desta canção, Claude DeMetrius e Fred Wise.
