Muito embora seja creditada como uma melodia de Lennon-McCartney, Get Back foi na realidade escrita apenas por McCartney. Os Beatles com Billy Preston alcançaram o primeiro lugar (durante cinco semanas) na tabela Hot 100 com Get Back (Apple 2490) em 1969. Foi o primeiro disco dos Beatles a creditar outro artista na etiqueta. No filme de 1970, Let It Be, Get Back foi cantada pelos Beatles no telhado dos estúdios da Apple, em Londres. 

Em actuações ao vivo durante os anos 70, Elvis por vezes cantava Get Back em medley com Little Sister. A actuação publicada na caixa Elvis Aron Presley foi gravada no International Hotel em Las Vegas em 13 de Agosto de 1970.
