Informação: Depois de ouvir a gravação de Reed na rádio, Elvis convidou-o a vir visitá-lo em Graceland. Em 10 de Setembro de 1967, Elvis gravou Guitar Man nos estúdios da RCA em Nashville, e a guitarra principal foi tocada por Jerry Reed. O lançamento em single de Elvis teve uma permanência de seis semanas na tabela Hot 100, chegando à 43ª posição. Guitar Man foi proeminentemente incluída no especial televisivo de 1968, Elvis. As gravações para o especial tiveram todas lugar em 29 e 30 de Junho de 1968. Depois da morte de Elvis, Felton Jarvis retirou a faixa instrumental original da gravação e gravou uma faixa instrumental nova em 16 de Outubro de 1980, no Young ‘Un Sound em Nashville. Mais uma vez foi Jerry Reed que tocou a guitarra principal. Esta nova versão remisturada foi lançada no LP Guitar Man e também em single. Guitar Man chegou ao 28º lugar na tabela Hot 100 e teve uma permanência de 14 semanas. Na tabela adulta contemporânea, teve uma permanência de nove semanas, chegando ao 16º lugar. Em Março de de 1981, Guitar Man substituiu Do You Love As Good As You Look, dos The Bellamy Brothers, no primeiro lugar na tabela country. Uma semana depois, Angel Flying too Close de Willie Nelson assumiu a primeira posição. Guitar Man foi o último disco de Elvis a chegar à primeira posição em qualquer uma das tabelas da Billboard. Teve um total de 13 semanas de permanência na tabela country. Letra:

Relançamento normal da série ouro. - Guitar Man / Faded Love (RCA JH-12158) Janeiro de 1981. Lançamento promocional para disc jockeys. Alguns destes discos promocioais foram lançados em vinil vermelho. - Guitar Man / Faded Love (RCA PB-12158) Janeiro de 1981. Nova versão remisturada.
