Informação:

Originalmente o Coronel Tom Parker queria que o especial televisivo de 1968, Elvis, terminasse com uma canção de Natal, mas o produtor Steve Binder mandou o realizador musical, W. Earl Brown escrever If I Can Dream para ser a última canção de Elvis do programa. A faixa instrumental foi gravada em 20 ou 21 de Junho de 1968, no Western Recorders, de Hollywood. A faixa vocal de Elvis foi gravada na NBC-TV em 29 de Junho. O single foi lançado pouco antes de 3 de Dezembro de 1968, altura em que o especial foi difundido. Devido à exposição adicional do programa, If I Can Dream subiu até ao 12º lugar na tabela Hot 100 da Billboard e vendeu um milhão de exemplares. Teve um total de permanência na tabela de 13 semanas.
