I Got Stung foi escrita por Aaron Schroeder e David Hill e gravada por Elvis em 11 de Junho de 1958, nos estúdios da RCA em Nashville. Seria a última canção que Elvis gravaria até 20 de Março de 1960. A RCA escolheu o take 24 para lançamento. O lançamento em single de I Got Stung teve uma permanência de 16 semanas na tabela Hot 100 da Billboard, chegando à 8ª posição. Na Inglaterra a canção foi número um durante três semanas. Segundo a RCA, I Got Stung vendeu mais de um milhão de exemplares.
