Jimmy Reed wrote and recorded Baby, What You Want Me To Do in 1960 for Vee Jay Records (Vee Jay 333). His recording was a #10 rhythm and blues hit. Four years later, Etta James (Argo 5459) reaches #82 on Hot 100 chart with her version.

Elvis sang Baby, What You Want Me To Do in his 1968 TV special, Elvis. The version that appeared on the air was from the 6:00 p.m. taping on June 27, 1968. Baby, What You Want Me To Do wsa one of the songs that Elvis sang in concert infrequently.
