THE GREENSBORO CONCERT - (Triangle)

The new label Triangle featuring an updated version of Vicky's "Sweet Carolina" is out now. Covering Elvis in Greensboro on April 14, 1972, this is one of the shows that was recorded by RCA and filmed by MGM for "Elvis On Tour".
The soundquality is tremendously good! Even though it is in mono, the sound can best be compared with an official release.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH - (Fort Baxter)

With such a title and such a content this will probably be the very last CD from Fort Baxter? It's been a while since last CD and this new one offers a collection of previously released goodies from the same label. Topped with two new live takes from the soundboard, January 26, 71.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH - (Fort Baxter)

July 19, 1975 Evening show

The Ampex label is bringing you for the first time on CD the complete July 19, 1975 afternoon show at the Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale NY. The first CD release of this concert was lifted directly from the vinyl and edited to fit onto one single CD. Now thanks to Ampex, you will be able to hear the complete unedited performance remastered from the original audience tape recordings for an optimum sound quality. The New Year's Eve 1976 Pittsburg concert deserved a decent outing and these great performances from July 1975 will now have one with '' America's Own Elvis Presley ''.

This double CD set will be completed with a 12 pages booklet and highlights from the Evening performance.

The New Year's Eve 1976.

The Porland Shows

In a few days we will get two new releases fron the Memory Records label, with two of three concerts that Elvis held in Portland, the missing one has been already released for the same label, so I considered to unify all three show in only one zone.

Try and get a copy of this concert for your collection if you can, it's well worth the trouble. This is an audience recording by the same person who provided the tapes for Double Dynamite, A Dinner Date with Elvis, From Macon to Vegas, etc. For an audience tape the sound is excellent. The CD starts off with 'That's All Right'  and then the sound improves  for the rest of the show.

The highlights of the show include 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me', 'You've Lost That Loving Feeling', 'How Great Thou Art', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'Suspicious Minds'. Don't get me wrong, the show is great form start to finish. I just feel the above songs are the strongest of the show. 'Polk Salad Annie' is performed, but Elvis leaves out more than half the lyrics. 'Bridge' has a hard time getting started as Elvis is continually distracted by  female fans, as he says "I will ball them all!" instead of "I will dry them all". 'How Great Thou Art' is first performed live on this tour (Nov 70) and it is very beautifully done, remaining quite close to the original studio recording.

The trilogy started with this fantastic show

A Diner Date With Elvis", "From Macon To Vegas", etc.

Same as the 70 concert CD´s these are also worth. This is one of a few shows we have available on CD from 1973 and it is one of the best. The show is from April 27, 1973 at Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. The recorder of this show got it all from start to finish and in good sound quality for an audience.

The show starts with the usual 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', 'See See Rider', and 'I Got a Woman'. A couple of songs later Elvis and band put some serious drive on 'Steamroller Blues'.  'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me'  and 'I'm Leavin' both are excellent. Other highlights include 'Fever', 'Suspicious Minds',  'An American Trilogy', & 'Big Hunk O Love'.
In all, Elvis sings twenty-two songs and gives his very best throughout the show. The audience is in a great mood (imagine seeing Elvis on a Friday night!). I'm not a big fan of audience recordings, but this one can get played on a somewhat regular basis. What a pitty that is not a soundboard!.

Comienza con el usual 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', See See Rider' y 'I Got A Woman', después de un par de temas Elvis interpreta un fantástico 'Steamroller Blues', también realiza estupendas versiones de 'You Don´t Have To Say You Love Me', 'I´m Leaving', 'Fever', 'Suspicious Minds', 'American Trilogy' t 'A Big Hunk O´love'

The end of the trilogy

This CD released from de Memory Records label offers the last Elvis concert in Porland on 1976. The sound is from the audience also, and it is in the same line that the previous CD´s, perhaps is a little more distant.

This show is not the best Elvis show, nothing to say about, maybe that Elvis does a big effort for to peform a good show, but he gets only a typical ´76 season show. We all knows that this year isn´t the best year for Elvis, except for a few shows, Elvis alternates tours on which you can see him tired and disconected, with others really goods.

The track list is the usual, with good versions of 'Funny How Time Slips Away', Hawaiian Wedding song', 'Blue Christmas' and 'That´s All Right'
