On June 10th 1958 Hard Headed Woman entered Billboard's Hot 100 at the number 1 slot, on the same day it entered both the Country & Rhythm & Blues charts at the number 2 position, it remained for thirteen weeks on the Hot 100, sixteen on the Country and ten on the R&B charts. Don't Ask Me Why was number 28 on the Hot 100 chart on June 28th, it remained on this chart for nine weeks, it was number 2 on the R&B chart where it remained for ten weeks.

RCA released this 45 in the UK in July 1958, it would enter the chart on July 31st 1958 it would reach the number 2 slot on the chart, it has a black label and a triangular centre, and later released with round centers, catalogue No. RCA 1070.
